Gangnam Style – that crazy, over-the-top song and dance that took the world by storm back in 2012. 🕺😆 With 5.5 billion (with a B!) views, nearly everybody in the world must have seen this video!
It’s only recently that I discovered the name refers to the Gangnam district of Seoul, South Korea. Gangnam is known as one of the wealthiest areas of the city, which makes sense when you see the video’s boats, cars, and beautiful horses.
Today when you visit Gangnam Station, you’ll find this lasting reminder of the famous song, though a larger section of the outdoor plaza is now devoted to modern K-Pop. Time marches on!
